CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres. Contemporary dancers connect their minds and bodies through fluid dance movements.
BREAKDANCING
Breakdancing is an energetic and aerobic style of street dancing characterised by intricate footwork and elaborate improvised movements.
POPPING & LOCKING
This particular dance style is known for the robot and waving. It also includes movements such as popping gestures, freezes and locking of joints to maintain a frozen position.
HOUSE
House dance is social dance performed to house music which has became increasingly popular these previous years. The Main elements of house dance is footwork, jacking and lofting.
TRAINING & VOLUNTEERING
CGSD provides training for dancers wanting to pursue dance further than just attending classes. Building on teaching skills, choreography skills, socialising, meeting different student needs and lets not forget the honour that comes with student progression. Students look up to volunteers and trainees as inspiration. With this programme you will build on life skills that you'll use throughout your education and work.
COMPETITIONS ACROSS THE UK
CGSD attend various competitions throughout the UK numerous times a year which have included Alton Towers Resort, BDO British Finals at Blackpool Tower Ballroom where we enter various categories such as Solos, Duos & Teams.
ADULT SESSIONS
A group of adults having no previous dance experience focused their minds to achieve something they'll never forget. CGSD Adults have numerous trophies from various compeitions and managed to hold onto the BDO British Title for BDO British for the second year in a row (2018 - 2019). CGSD adults placed 1st place in all compeitions they entered in 2019 and are always looking for new recruits. Meet new friends, social events, great exercise, flexibility and focusing the mind. BIRTHDAY & OCCASION PARTY'S
CGSD celebrate occasions throughout the year including CGSD's Birthday, Easter, Halloween & Christmas for our dancers & friends. We are also available to book for Dancing Birthday Parties so please get in touch if it's something you're intrested in.
